Description:

The Hay Adams Hotel has remained a landmark because of its prominent location. From 1927 to 1983 it had changed hands many times causing decline both structurally and aesthetically.

David H. Murdock, a California Financier, bought the building in 1983 and contracted Roy Kirby & Sons, Inc. to assist in returning the Hay Adams to its original grandeur. Renovations to the building included demolition, carpentry, tile, marble, electrical and mechanical.
